Moon rise over Homer.
Beautiful morning for fishing.
So we left the port of Homer and headed south toward the ocean but still in the bay.
Toni just wanted to catch one fish. So what happens...
Almost the first fish in the boat, second by just seconds.
As Janeen was helping Toni with her halibut and I am taking pictures with one hand and holding my pole with the other, she says you have a fish. I respond yes she does. Which then she gives me a look and says YOU HAVE A FISH. Oh, time to reel it in.
And yes I did.
The limit was two each. One under 28" and one any size. We were both some of the first to reach our limit. We caught and released a few more.

Both of us.
Then we got photobombed.
The filleted them on the way back in
We ended up with over 18 lbs of fillets that were taken as we got of the boat and were flash frozen and vacuum packed very soon after. Will be overnighted to our freezer. Fresh halibut is going for $25/lb here.
Them we walked around town some more, checked our the visitor center, and took a break before dinner.
