A drive down the western side of theKenai peninsula from the City of Kenai to Homer (another end of the road of the Homer Spit). Walked around the Spit, got our fishing licences, went to the famous Salty Dawg Saloon, had some good food and then checked into the RV Park.
Homer is the home of Jewel, her family the Kilchers of Alaska, The Last Frontier fame, and some of the boats/crews including Time Bandit of Deadliest Catch.

The fog quickly started to lift as we were leaving the overlook and turned out to be one of the clearest days we have had.
First stop was to get our fishing licenses for tomorrow. Then found the pier and boat we would be on.
Salty Dawg Saloon. Besides a spot for the Kilchers, it is known for tacking up a signed dollar bill to the wall, ceiling or what ever you can reach. We were looking for one or friends left a few years ago. Didn't find it but put ours up and one for Tim to find on his next trip here.
